The Wong Lab (VCCRI/UNSW) and the Francois Lab (Centenary Institute) are seeking a PhD candidate interested in understanding the function and evolution of regulatory elements using molecular biology, proteomics, and imaging in cell lines and animal models.

The candidate will be jointly supervised by both lab heads and will interact with experts from a range of fields and learn valuable skills.

Does this sound like you?

    You should be motivated and passionate. You will have a background in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology or a related field and a 1st class Honours or equivalent level of research experience. You should have appropriate training in statistics. Skills in a programming language such as R is useful. You must be interested in evolution, genetics and be excited to learn.

    You will be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy program through the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, UNSW Sydney (Doctor of Philosophy program). UNSW Sydney is one of the top 50 universities in the world (QS 2022 rankings).
